My name is Nancy Visima, née Aitken, living in Ontario, Canada, a mother of two and grandmother of two. I have been researching my family history for nearly 30 years.
My roots are entirely British—my father’s family hailed from Northeast Scotland, primarily Aberdeenshire, while my mother’s heritage was a mix of English, Scottish and Irish (the farther back I go, the more Irish roots I seem to find). My great-grandparents all immigrated to Canada in the early 1900s.
I really enjoy researching and putting together the puzzle pieces to tell a story. I have plenty of tales about my ancestors, who were mostly ordinary folk but as in most families also included a few black sheep.
I welcome comments or questions and would be happy to share any of my source documentation upon request.
